Wow, it really has been a long time since my last blog. I hope to keep this blog going a bit better this year and really share info and ideas between friends!
This winter has been a real challenge to find fun things my 2.5 year old son Ty and I to do together. He has not started preschool yet, so this winter has really forced me to become extra creative, finding cheap or free activities around the city and suburbs to do inside!! My goal this spring is to populate this blog with a whole bunch of great resources and ideas for parents. Entertainment ideas, kids classes, kid friendly restaurants, awesome toys, great crafts etc...
But I can't do it all myself! So this post is a friendly request to all my awesome friends to contribute if you can!
Since I am sending out this request.....I will get the ball rolling! Please shoot me an email with ideas, comment right here on the blog or post something to my facebook! I will then add it to my blog so that you can check back to one single spot for sweet mama stuff!!!
I'll start us off with some fun places to go! If you have checked out any inexpensive new places that your kids loved recently please post it!!
Thanks everyone!

Idea #1-
Museum of Science and Industry
Ages- 2+
Price- Free with a Chicago Public Library Pass
Parking- Free on the street if your willing to walk a block or two!
Ty and I have made the rounds this winter to most of the major Chicago museums. But the one we keep going back to is the M of S & I. If you are a Chicago resident you can check out FREE museum family passes to all the museums around Chicago. It seems as if it is a pretty awesome deal right? Well, it can be if you go to the right museum! The passes allow you free general admission to the museums. The catch is that some of them require a pretty large entrance fee to the really good exhibits that are not included in general admission (cough cough....shedd....cough aquarium cough...). The best one I have found yet is the Museum of Science and Industry. It is fantastic for all ages, even those as young as 2! Planes, trains, automobiles, tornadoes, baby chicks, kids water play area, fairy castle....and the list goes on and on! General admission is all you need there!
Idea #2-
Jump Zone! http://www.jumpzoneparty.com/
Ages: 2+
Price- Pop in play is $8
Parking- Free
Jump zone is one of the many inflatable party zones around the city and suburbs. We tried it last week with a friend an really liked it! This particular play zone is in Niles. If you live up north it is a short car ride away! Check out their website for drop in play times and don't forget to check out the cool character themed bouncers and slides! Firetrucks, dinosaurs, princesses, Disney characters...you name it....they can slide and bounce on it!
